VPE6, VB6SP6 and Windows 7

Postby ralph » Wed Mar 31, 2010 10:07 pm

Hi,

i test your VPE Ver. 6 with Visual Basic 6 SP6 and Windows 7 Ultimate.

Every time after a VPE-preview i get an unknown error and the whole program (or the IDE) finishes.

Has anybody the same problems or any solution?

Or do you need futher information?

...

ich habe nun mal den Kompatibilitätsmodus in Windows 7 auf Windows XP SP3 gestellt - und das kompilierte Programm wie auch aus der IDE heraus läuft einwandfrei.

TRANSLATION by IDEAL Software GmbH:
I switched the compatibility mode of Windows 7 to Windows XP SP3 - the compiled program as well as running from the IDE works flawlessly now.

Update: We have been testing Visual Basic 6 with Windows 7.

Windows 7 reports at several points during the installation that Visual Studio 6 is not supported, but finally the installation of Visual Basic 6 completes.

But Visual Basic 6 did not function properly, unless we started it with administrative privileges.

We finally created a small test program using Visual Basic 6 and the VPE ActiveX, which also displays the VPE preview window. It worked flawlessly when being run from the Visual Basic 6 IDE. There is no error shown and the IDE does not crash. This proves for us that there is no problem within the VPE ActiveX.
