Windows Server 2019 and demo vpe3260

Postby thomasr » Tue Feb 02, 2021 7:05 am

Hi
We have upgraded from windows server 2008 to window server 2019. Using the vpedemo.exe for version vpe_c3260 crashes when using one of the demo examples (Welcome option).
Is window server 2019 no longer back compatible?

Many thanks for your response.

You are using VPE v6.00. This problem has been fixed in a later version. The current version is v7.20.

Yes indeed it has been fixed. Downloaded v7.2 and it is working and thank you for the reply.

Just as a matter of curiosity, do you have a script to change the vpe entries as we have to adjust over 100 reports. Just wondering.
thank you

What do you mean by "VPE entries"?

I have to change the ocx entry from version 6 to version 7. Currently I am doing it manually by deleting the ocx control on the screen and replace it by the new version.
Thank you

We have no automated tool to do so. Every programming language / development environment stores information about a used ActiveX in its own proprietary format.
