Objects margins (did it changed in VPE 3.6?)

Postby aleclerc » Thu Jun 30, 2005 2:49 pm

Hi all,

When we update to VPE 3.6 a lot of our reports had problems with the margin of objects. IE, we had tight columns for date fields, columns headers and so that where no longer fitting correctly, so that the end was cut off.

We are in the process to correct many, but we would like to know if there is a way to instruct the DLL to change the default margin of all objects so that the problem would be solved in all our reports.

Thanks for any help.

You updated recently from v3.10 (from the year 1999) to v3.60.

The code in v3.20 was changed so that characters within a text are laid out a bit different. This change was necessary. If you had used VpeRenderWrite() to determine the width of a column (or VFREE as parameter to the text output functions) the problem would not occur.

We recommend that you use now VpeRenderWrite() to determine the column width correctly.
