TVPEObject and Delphi

Postby EvP » Thu Aug 25, 2011 4:42 pm

Hi,

I'd like to use an object to change its appearance when it's clicked.
I'm using Delphi XE and VPE 6.10 Pro.

In the manual it explains how to do that.
However when I try to assing a TVPEObject to a variable it does not know how.

Example:
var
Obj : TVPEObject;

Will not compile.

Is something missing in the Delphi source part ?

Kind regards, Erik.

Please see <vpe-install-dir>\delphi\vpeedemo for sample source code.

Nice short answer, but the examples do NOT use the TVPEObject.
Only the TVPEngine is used there.
I would not have asked the question if it was used in an example.

The only place it shows is in the help but if you paste those examples they will also not compile because TVPEObject and TVPETemplate are unknown.
This can be found under 'important note for VPE-VCL users'.

I want to change the background of a selected object.
I can click it and get its objectID back, but without the TVPEObject I can't change it's properties.

Please have a look.

Kind regards, Erik.

The vpeedemo shows how to modify a TVPEObject. The answer was so short, because searching for "TVPEObject" in vpeedemo\unit1.pas reveals this.

Hi, I asked about changing the property's of a clicked object and explained I am using the VPE Professional version.

The VPEEdemo - easy to overlook the extra E in your answer - is not included in the Pro version, only the VPEdemo.
Since I don't have the Enterprise edition I could not now there is also a VPE-E-demo

The VPEObject is not declared in the Pro version only in the Enterprise edition.....

Does this mean I have to buy the Enterprise version to do this ?
I understood the Enterprise version is only need in conjunction with Dyco-doc

Kind regards,
Erik.

TVPEObject is only provided in the Enterprise Edition and higher. This is clearly marked in the manuals / help files.
