VPE Preview Email button and Outlook 2010 64-bit

One of our customers reports he can't send emails from the VPE preview window because the email button is greyed out and does not respond. His computers are using Windows 7 64-bit, and they use the Outlook from Office 2010, 64-bit version.

To verify the problem, we sent him the VPEDEMO.EXE executable from VPE version 6.0 - same problem. (We have not yet downloaded VPE version 6.1).

We use the DLL version of VPE, emailing from preview works well in all other environments.

Question: Is this a known problem? I couldn't find anything about this particular issue on your forum. If it is known: Is is solved in VPE 6.1, or in a patch to it?

Any other ideas about this problem?

In your case this means that on Windows 64-bit, a 32-bit mail client is required for your 32-bit application.

It does not help with the 32-bit vs. 64-bit problem, but generally we recommend to update to v6.10, because it has the major advantage that it does support Extended MAPI. Before only Simple MAPI was supported.

Reading your reply and the message you referring to:
Does this mean if our customer would install Windows Live Mail (a 32-bit application) on their 64-bit environment, the Preview Email button in our 32-bit application would be functional again?

We have not tested Windows Live Mail. We do not know whether it supports Simple MAPI or Extended MAPI. We'd be glad if you keep us informed here whether you had success in using it.

This was just a hypothetical question. I don't know if they have Live Mail, or if they'd be willing to use it.
