TIFF CCITT FAX3 compression changes in 6.10

After upgrading from VPE 6.0 to 6.10 (dll) I noticed that the TIFF files we generate have become smaller (not in pixels, but in bytes).
The image dimensions, dpi, and other parameters are identical, but the file size has gone down from 34382 bytes to 23028 bytes. Normally, I wouldn't mind, but this change has upset our Zetafax server. The generated fax has horizontal lines across the page.

Is this change in TIFF export due to the FreeImage Library update? Or is there something else afoot?

This is caused by the FreeImage update, which in turn includes an updated TIFFLib. Are the images ok, when displayed with other software?

I suppose I had better contact the TIFFLib project regarding this issue. The images display ok when using other imaging software, so in fact I suspect the problem is in the Zetafax implementation.

By the way, which version of TIFFLib is used in VPE 6.0?

VPE v4.0 up to v6.0 used TIFFlib Version 3.8.2 from 2006-03-23.

VPE v6.10 uses TIFFlib Version 3.9.4 from 2010-06-15.

You might better contact the Zetafax manufacturer.

Issue resolved by using CCITT FAX4 compression instead
