New licensing model since v4

Postby martin » Mon Oct 29, 2007 3:50 pm

Do I understand that since v4 VPE is licensed on a subscription model. This means I have to pay a yearly amount to be allowed to use VPE for development? If I stop paying I am still allowed to deploy products including VPE but I am not allowed anymore to continue developing? This means I would need to freeze future development of my product?

Even worse that it seems that also the server licenses seem to follow this model. This means I have to pay a yearly fee to run a server application using VPE?

Please clarify!

This seems to be a misunderstanding. Of course you may develop applications after your subscription came to an end. You will just not receive any further updates or service releases after a subscription has ended.

Aha. OK! That is not formulated very clear because it only talks about "deploying applications". Same rule applies to the server licenses - correct? So I am allowed to use the server license after the subscription has expired?

I just saw that the text on the website now has been updated and is clear now. Thanks a lot!
