VPE professional show demo banner using .Net

Postby thomasr » Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:37 am

I am using Vpe Professional 7.0.0.0. The OCX works perfectly and does not show the demo banner.
However having the vpe professional in a .Net form displays the demo banner.
I am using Progress OpenEdge 11.7.

Any hint is mostly appreciated.

Thank you

Everything about how the .NET licensing mechanism works, is explained in our open source article here:

Note, that your development tool needs to support the .NET licensing mechanism.

Hi

I tried to get the license.licx into the Progress Developer Studio but the demo banner still appears. I used the license file from the example and adjusted it to the current version (license.licx points to 3.6 version).
VB Studio and Progress Studio probably use this kind of licenses in a different way.

Just wondering if you have a Progress version of the script in the link you sent me (Net-Licensing.html).

In the mean time, I create wrapper program that contains the ocx which I then call from a .Net window.

Kind regards

We have no Progress version of the C# code.

We implemented in VPE v7.20 R1 a new method License(), which allows to provide the license key at runtime by code. This solves the issue.
