Clearing Text

Hi,
I am evaluating VPE Standard latest release (3.60),
using Delphi 6.

I want to show the page number first time through a
report, and then go back and show the "page nn of nn"
when the report is completed. Why? Because I think it
looks a bit "funny" in the preview without the page number.

Ideally, I would like to clear the text first displayed
and then display the new text. I know that there are other
ways to achieve this, but I would prefer to clear the text.

Q. Is it possible to clear text, and if so, how?

Clearing text is not possible in the Standard Edition. In the Enterprise
Edition (and higher) you can remove objects from a page.

For the Standard Edition, the way to go is not to insert "page of total
pages" numbers before the report is done.

After the the report is done, you can iterate over all pages and insert a "# page of # total pages" footer. This is demonstrated in source code by the "Speed + Tables" demo.
