Transparency of udo objects

Postby IDEAL Software Support » Tue Nov 23, 2004 4:55 pm

Does anyone know how I can set the transparency of udo objects ? The vpe.bkgmode
doesn't take any effect to the vpe, although the documentation describes that
udo objects are like boxes and the properties like bkgmode, pensize and penstyle
are also defined for the udo objects.

We tested it. VPE.BkgMode mode works as explained and the transparency
can be set. You must be doing something wrong.

Okay, that's right, the bkgMode works with a regular vpe-document. Unfortunately I didn't say that the problem occurs when I am calling the method "WriteDoc" to generate a pdf-document.
I thought that my problem was a common problem when printing a document so that I didn't check the normal way to print. Can it be true that transparency is not available in pdf ? I don't believe so.

Yes, this is correct. As you can read from the documentation, UDO's are
exported to PDF as bitmaps. Transparency is not possible in this case.
