VPE 5.0 - creating a PDF document with VPE for the web

Postby Mark Powers » Thu Jul 30, 2009 9:00 pm

I have a server DLL that does stuff for our web site that is receiving calls from ASP pages and I need it to be able to process a VPE report without any graphical user interface on the host end and it returns the document name to the users browser. I've tried this using the active X method and I keep getting an error message that I "need a window to perform this operation".

I am using VPE 5.0 Enhanced to try and do this.

Thanks
Mark

Regarding the ActiveX, I can't say much, our ActiveX expert is currently in holidays and will return in 2 weeks. But we know of customers which are using the VPE ActiveX in ASP, so it is possible.

I would recommend to use our ASP.NET component, which has been especially designed to work in ASP.NET (without a window).
