VPE_E_ APIFAILED error reported by ASP.NET 2.0 application

We have a strange problem with an ASP.NET 2.0 application on a specific machine (same app works well on other machines).

It reports the following exception:

System.InvalidOperationException: An underlaying VPE API routine has failed. Possible causes: Invalid arguments, conversion of datatype impossible, Out of Memory, File not Found, etc.
caused by IDEALSoftware.VpeWebInteractive

Any suggestions how we could track down this issue?

You should use a debugger and locate the line of code which causes the exception.
