Do you mean the position within a text of a VPE object, where a field is used?

This is not possible. There could be used some workaround, but why would you want to obtain this information?

Beside the visual design, the main use of templates is that fields are merged with text automatically, regardless where - or how often - a field is used.

If this is related to your previous question, how to create a dynamic list by code, you do not need the position of fields within text, you need the coordinates of the objects. These coordinates can be retrieved using VPE.

The vpeedemo source code in the Delphi folder shows how to extract the coordinates from template-objects.

For a simple report, please see the "Speed + Tables" Delphi demo source code of "vpedemo".

Please see also the chapter "dycodoc Template Processing" in the help file titled "Programmer's Manual", as well as the description of the template object in the reference manual.
