Check if PRS file fits to a specific Print-Driver

Postby Andi.Wieland » Thu Sep 22, 2011 11:03 am

Hello,

is there a way to find out if a PRS file fits to the corresponding print driver on the machine?
Eg. because the driver-version (or even the printer manufacturer) has changed but the device name stayed the same?

Thanks for any answers...

In the help file titled "Programmer's Manual", in the chapter "Printer Setup", the structure of the PRS file is documented.

Inside the PRS file the DEVMODE structure provided by the Micosoft Windows API is stored. It contains the field dmDriverVersion. But it doesn't provide the printer manufacturer nor the printer model, so this is not a secure method to check for compatibility.
