Mail from Preview

Hello,

when pressing the MailTo Button from Preview the Mail Client will be startet in Maximized Dialog. The Minimize Button from this Dialog is disabled. From other Applications that call a MailTo Dialog all Sizing Buttons are available. Is there a possibility to enable it from VPE?

This is not happening here. Neither with Outlook, nor with Thunderbird. What mail client and what version of VPE are you using?

We work with Outlook 2010 and VPE 6.1 (latest Update)

If you run one of the demos shipped with VPE, for example vpedemo.exe and you click there on the mail button, does it happen then, too? What Windows version and platform (32-bit or 64-bit) are you using?

I try the VPE Enterprise Demo and also here the Minimize Button is disabled.
I use Windows 7 in 32-bit

To make things clear: you run the standalone executable "vpeedemo.exe", which is located in "<vpe-install-dir>\demos" and is shipped ready compiled? I am asking this, because here it works and no other customer is reporting this problem. So we rather assume this is a problem of your development tool - or its environment settings, to be more specific.

With what programming language / tool / environment are you working? Are you using the DLL, the .NET component, the ActiveX, the Delphi VCL, or the Java component of VPE?

Yes, i run the ready compiled standalone shipped "vpeedemo.exe" and also here the Minimize Button of Outllok 2010 is disabled.
I work with Visual FoxPro 9 SPe and the VPE 6.1 ActiveX

We confirm that the minimize button of the Outlook message window is disabled, this also happens on Windows XP. But this seems to be a "feature" of Outlook.

We do not confirm that the Outlook message window is opened in maximized mode and / or can not be resized.

Resizing (make SendTo Window smaller) is possible.
But with other Code that call the SendTo Window the Minimize Button is available, here the Window is not on Top!!! Maybe when VPE call the SendTo and make this On Top the Minimize is disabled!?

For some Users it is a problem that the SendTo Window is OnTop and couldnot be Minimized. So i ask the Community What can help me to Enable the Minimize Button OR Start the SendTo Window NOT OnTop

It does not make sense to have the Outlook message window not on top. We will not change this.

OK, i give up . I understand, that it will be helpfull that the SendTo Window is On Top. But my Users like the possibility that the Window goes in the Background OR minimize it.

Thank you for your understanding. I would like to mention that this is coded into Outlook, because if you click the e-mail button in the toolbar of OpenOffice, the minimize button of the Outlook message window is also disabled. Microsoft Word is embedding the Outlook window into its own window, so this is completely different.
