Dot-matrix printer with Generic/Text only driver

Postby klax » Mon Jul 05, 2010 9:15 am

Hi,

is it possible to print a VPE-Document 3.6 , using a template (created with dycodoc 1.10) on a dot-matrix-printer, where the Generic / Text only - driver is installed. Of course without the text-formating features bold, underlined ....
For example, in a test-print, text placed in the template in 2 lines is printed in a single line and words within a line overlap.

Using the Epson LX-300 driver, text lines are printed correctly.

Thanks for help.

Except for very simple layouts, the Generic / Text only driver will not produce usable results. What is your intention to use this driver?

We want to use this driver to accelerate the printing process. (Another reason is the printer in graphic mode is too loud in a office room with several employees - they are disturbed by th background noise.)

It is sufficient if the template contains header and footer textlines, textfields filled in with VPE and the corresponding labels.
