VPE on AOL Webserver???

Postby pocketom » Wed Feb 04, 2009 3:41 pm

Hi,

we have a difficult problem. We want to provide our customers with nice PDFs created by VPE. We are running our eCommerce portal on an AOL webserver.

Could this be working? Perhaps someone could give me some hints on how to get startet from this point.

Thanx,
Thomas

Our own web portal is also using VPE to produce order confirmations and invoices. It is running under Apache on Linux as CGI. There should be no problem using it with other webservers. For example VPE offers bindings for ASP and ASP.NET, so it can be used with IIS on Windows.

The question is: what programming language are you using and what operating system (we do not know the AOL webserver)?

Hi.

Thank you for your reply. We are running it on a Sun Solaris machine, it is composed by several tcl scripts.

We don't have an IIS server, but if we would choose to install it on another machine for example, how could we use VPE to generate PDFs on the fly without storing them physically somewhere?

Please read the manuals and see the asp.net subdirectory, which is installed with VPE. It contains a complete ASP.NET sample written in C#.

You can also use the Solaris version of VPE and write a C/C++ program which is triggered by a CGI/script. This is what we do on Linux.

For extensive C++ demo sources, please see the subdirectory "C++", which is installed with VPE.
