Italic and PDF

I send a text do a document with italic. In the preview the text is shown properly. Written to PDF the text is not anymore italic.
What can that be.

What version and release of VPE are you using?

If it is the current VPE v4.0 R4, then please send the VPE document - created using WriteDoc() - to our support mail address for analysis.

If it is an older version of VPE, please update.

VPE4 Standard. Now release 4 but the same problem. I sent you the pdf.

You are using the font "Lucida Console". For this font no italic or bold versions are available, i.e. Windows synthesizes those attributes, so they are shown in the preview of Windows. This is not possible in PDF. For example for the fonts "Arial", "Times New Roman" and "Courier New", there are different True-Type Font files (TTF) available for each attribute (normal, bold, italic, bold + italic). For any such attribute, the corresponding TTF file is used within the PDF document.
