ActiveX on ASP

Postby anskaro » Fri Oct 24, 2008 5:55 pm

Hello,

I've found VPE 'googling' and I don't know if this tool can help me.
I've developed a web application and the users have to print some reports. The code is written on ASP and, frankly, I don't know how (if it's possible) use VPE.

After viewing the examples and reading the forum, I have not seen anything about ASP but a lot about ASP.NET

It's possible for a user to get a report from an .asp page?
If the answer is yes, how can I do it? How can I use the methods to build the report dinamically?
A 'hello world!' example would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you in advance

You can use the VPE ActiveX for reports in ASP. Best, if you create a PDF document and send it to the client browser. The sample code of the ASP .NET component shows how to send a PDF file to a client, by setting the HTTP stream's content type accordingly.

Please note that VPE v4.0 Professional Edition can also create PDF documents in memory, without creating an external file. This would be the preferred way for faster processing.
