maximum value for the height in "RenderWriteBox"

Postby IDEAL Software Support » Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:16 pm

Hello!
Does anyone know if there is a limitation for the height in the
method "RenderWriteBox"? I have a long text for which I want to
calculate the height of the used box. If the height is more than
276mm the nRenderHeight-property stays always at this value and if
you now add a few more lines in the text, the value will stay the
same.
Hope someone can help me!
Thanks in advance!

"RenderWriteBox" considers the current settings for the page dimensions and margins. If it computes a height of 276mm, this means it computes an Auto Page Break (see help files for details). What does it help you to get a bigger bottom coordinate than text can be placed on the current page?

If you need - for whatever reason - to compute the total height of the text without page breaks, set the page dimensions and margins for the current page to huge values, say 999cm (max. possible value) for the page height. You could do that also in a temporary second document.
