3.5 Printdevice problem

Postby IDEAL Software Support » Thu Nov 18, 2004 8:19 pm

I'm programming VC++ 6.0 and using "Amyuni RTF Converter" to save my
VPE documents as RTF-document occassionally.
The RTF Converter is a simple printerdevice.

Everything worked fine with version 3.2, but since we upgraded to
vpep 3.5 it creates only an empty file, and prints it on the
defaultprinter, if the default printer isn't my RTF Converter.

What has changed between this versions?
Printing/Saving/Building/previewing (everything else..) on the
documents as VPE works still fine.

PS: My OS is Windows 2000 Professional, but the problem stays the same on XP, or other

The Amyuni products have been reported several times to cause problems. It seems they do not behave as printer drivers should.

VPE communicates on several levels with printer drivers. As a workaround you can try to set

PrintOptions = PRINT_ALL + PRINT_NO_AUTO_PAGE_DIMS

in order to reduce the communication to a lowest necessary minimum. If this does not help, contact Amyuni and tell them that they have serious problems in their drivers.

Sorry, I've been to fast to happy.
I assigned 3.5 in my debugversion. Buti I haven't rebuilt my whole
solution, so my application still used the 3.2, and this worked as
fine as ever.

That was maybe lack of coffee. So I posted my problem in the
amyuniforum

Sorry
