ContextMenu on Preview Window

Postby wpeterson00 » Tue Jun 20, 2006 6:27 pm

I can place a ContextMenuStrip to enable a right click menu on the VPE control, but it doesn't work in preview mode. Is there a work around for this?

Thanks

The VPE preview does not forward right or left mouse button down events, nor keyboard events to the host application. In short: there is no workaround.

Just because I am curious: why do you want to have a context menu in the preview?

I need the ability to zoom or scale the preview with a right click menu selection for an embedded preview window.

So you are hiding the toolbar of VPE? I recommend to use a menu then in your main window.

You are correct, I don't want to use the toolbar. It would be optimal if the ContextMenu that I attached to the control would also function when the window is previewed especially when ExternalWindows is false.

So the VPE Preview would need to send WM_L / R BUTTONDOWN / UP messages to the host application... well, I will forward this to the development team, but I can't promise that it will be implemented.
