PDF-export can't be opened with acrobat reader

Postby andreasw » Tue Dec 27, 2005 12:14 pm

Hi,
I use VPE licensed Version 3.0.0.5 in combination with the PDF-module licensed version 3.60.0.2.
When I use WriteDoc() to export to PDF, a PDF-document is created but can't be opened ba acrobat reader.

Since you say on your homepage the PDF-module "...can be used with any Edition of VPE." I don't understand why this doesn't work.

I also tried license() but that had no effect.

I'm using VFP 7.0 as IDE.

Thanks for fast help.

VPE can export to PDF since version 3.50 (released October 2002). Your version v3.0.0.5 is from 1999 or so.

So if you call WriteDoc("xyz.pdf") with this old version, VPE will not generate a PDF file. Instead it will generate a native VPE document file with the suffix ".PDF". Of course this file can not be read by a PDF reader.

Solution: upgrade VPE to the current version, which is capable of exporting to PDF (v3.60 at the time of this writing).
