unprintable characters?

Hi,

Using Enterprise edition v3.50 in Progress V8. I am outputing many fields from a database and some of these fields have a default value of '[None]'.

The fields that have this value are not output. Take the [] away and it displays ok. Is there a reason for this?

This is related to embedded flags. If the first character is a '[', VPE expects embedded flags (i.e. instruction for text formatting). To avoid this, use '[[' and a single '[' will be printed. This applies only to the very first character of a string. In any other position a single '[' will print as a '['.
