DXF Arc Rendering problem

Postby beone » Tue Aug 16, 2005 5:37 pm

I am using VPE 3.1 to create "route" sheets in a manufacturing enveronment. Sheets consist of part information with a picture at the top. The pictures are created from a cad system( used to be Microstation- changing to Pro-E) as dxfs. In some of the dxfs some of the arcs are rendered as straight lines or are approximated as straight lines. This happens with both MS and Pro-E dxf's although we have found an alternate method of creating the dxfs from MS which render correctly. This add a lot of extra work and MS will be going away. Is there a fix to make VPE render the arcs correctly?

First, try the current VPE version 3.60. If this doesn't solve the problem, the bad news is that we had such problems in the past and it had always been buggy DXF files. The good news is, we can analyse the DXF file, but only in the scope of our support (requires 12 Support Units). If this proves to be a bug in VPE, the analysis and fix will be free of charge.
