Optimized Printer Drivers

I am using VPE to create large documents for Enterprise level Postscript printers, which print drivers are the fastest and most optimized.

Regarding performance I can't say much, but in any case I would check the Adobe PostScript drivers, because they will be 100% according to the standard (since they are the inventors of PostScript).
