Borland 5.5 Command Line Compiler

Postby Jim » Fri Mar 25, 2016 10:45 am

I'm starting to get familar with the Vpe Community Version and it occurs to me I need two things.
1. and most important I need to incorporate Vpe within an existing application written with the Borland 5.5 free command line compiler,
2. at some point I will need to at least need a higher version for some of the things I would like to do.
I have a few routines working using Visual Studio 2015 but just enought to make me realize I need the functions within the Borland application.
I've tried using the Imp_lib libs and def files with the linker to now luck.
Has any one successfully incorporated VPE into the Borland 5.5 Command line compiler.
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Hopefully I'm not breaking a forum rule but here goes.
I finally succesfully incorporated the imp_libs into our old Borland 5.5 command line c++ setup.
I used the vpec3271.lib along with the vpec32bc.def in the linker and things are looking up.
But I am having a problem displaying bitmaps.
I'm going to post a new query for this but if anyon who read this can explain why the bitmap code I embedded in the VpeDemo doesn't work in our software I would appreciate any help.

Thanks,
Jim

For anyone following this there is no problem with the bitmaps.
An old timers rookie mistake. At the moment everything seems to be working.
