New page problem with version 7

Postby JudgeTerry » Mon Sep 29, 2014 1:55 pm

I am having a strange problem with VPE version 7 (Professional).

When a two page letter is produced with version 7. When produced with a preview, (or when viewed using VPEView), you can not view page two on the first try.

Open the document with VPEView and hit page down the preview stays on page 1, but the message bar shows "2/2". Now hit page up followed by page down and you correctly view page one or page two.

This only seems to happen on documents that flow to a second page because the lower margin is exceeded. If a new page command is executed during document creation there is no problem.

I have gone back to version 6.1 and everything works as expected.

Any ideas?

Nothing in the code for the preview and document navigation has been changed from v6.10 to v7.00.

This only seems to happen on documents that flow to a second page because the lower margin is exceeded.

There is no correlation between auto page break and document navigation. Please send a VPE document file to our support e-mail address for examination.

As a note for other readers: The problem has been fixed. It had to do with recent changes in the RTF parser.
