The release notes will be made available when VPE is released.

As usual, they will be available at: http://www.idealsoftware.com/en/support/history_list.html

An up-to-date "Release Notes" document is also installed with each new version of the VPE SDK.

Major enhancements are:
- 64-bit Windows versions, which are sold separately. They will also be available as bundle (32 + 64-bit) at a discounted price.
- Windows Touch support for panning and zooming

Professional Edition and higher:
- Generates QR Code 2D Barcode
- PDF/A support (PDF/A-1b)
- New Text Block Object, which allows multi-column layout and text floating around other objects

As well as small enhancements and bug-fixes for all editions.

VPE 7.0 sounds exciting for us long term users!

We are glad to announce the release of VPE v7.0 Professional Edition BETA as 32-bit and 64-bit versions.

It can be downloaded at http://idealsoftware.com/beta/vpep-bundle.zip

The zip archive contains a 32-bit and a 64-bit installer.
Please note that the beta version is a 30-day trial version.

As usual, all enhancements, changes and bug-fixes are listed in detail in the file "Release Notes", which is installed together with VPE.

After the 30-day beta period, we plan to release all editions as full versions.

If you should encounter any problems, please post them here in the forum as a new topic.

The TextBlock is a VPE-only feature, not dycodoc?

Please take a closer look at the API of the Text Block Object. It is not a graphical object that could be used in a layout designer. It has to be controlled by code.

I thought so after reading, and I certainly understand why...
We do all layouting with Dycodoc and do not use any VPE commands to write text except the VPETpl ones...
From time to time a kind of TextBlock would be nice... so I will have a look to combine these two...

Let me add, that we kind of "overuse" / "misuse" Dycodoc templates...
