If the VpeSetDevice is omitted everything works using the default HP driver set to A4. I can also print an identical label from Word to the Easycoder C4.

With the EasyCoder driver selected by VpeSetDevice:
VpeSetDevCopies causes a Kernel32 error
VpePrintDoc causes a Kernel32 error after the progress bar is briefly visible.
With these two commands commented out, the preview is good.

if you are not already using VPE v3.20 R4, try this one. If it doesn't help try VPE v3.50 R1 (your v3.20 license key will unlock it).

The problem is: there are many faulty printer drivers out there. Printer driver manufacturers test their drivers with applications like Word and if it works, they think their job is done.

VPE now contains about 2-3 man years of work in debugging printer drivers and finding workarounds. As a consequence, VPE now works perfectly with nearly all printer drivers available. However, there are still some drivers which do not support correctly some function calls which are officially published by Microsoft.

So, if the problem still persists with VPE v3.50 R1, then contact the printer driver vendor to fix his bugs, because we have done everything possible.

I am using V3.5 R1.

However, some research showed that many barcode printer drivers are developed by Seagull Technologies for the printer manufacturers and, with one exception in ten drivers tried, they all fail to work with VPE.
More research found another source of drivers, NiceLabel. The Intermec driver does work with VPE with one minor fault!
The authors are Euro Plus.

So, if anyone is having problems with printing to barcode printers, try www.nicelabel.com
