Server deployment still shows demo banners

Postby omihai_2000 » Tue May 22, 2012 12:51 pm

Hi,

We have purchased VPE Professional Edition ver.6.1 for using in an ASP.NET application (.NET 2.0)

I managed to license the components locally, on the development machine, everything looks OK. After I deployed the application on customer's server, Windows Server 2003 + IIS6, the demo banners show up.

Does the customer need to purchase server licenses ?

Thank you.

No, we dropped server licenses several years ago with the release of VPE v4.0 R2.

Regarding .NET licensing, please see our article: http://www.idealsoftware.com/opensource/net-licensing.html

This should help you in licensing VPE correctly for deployment.

Hi,

This is really frustrating, I have copied the license.licx file on the server (in the bin folder), run some tests, everything looked OK.
Then the customer tested, and she got the banners back. Checked it, and I got them back too.

What's going on ?

Please read our article for which I did provide the link. You need to include the LICX file INTO your project and rebuild your application. Then ship the newly built application to your customer.
