How to do footnotes?

We are using VPE and would like to add footnotes to our documents,^can anyboby tell us if VPE supports this capability or how this can be achieve using VPE.

VPE does not provide footnotes as an automatism. However, it is easy to create footnotes:

1) Your program must know in advance, what footnotes belong to a certain page
2) Use RenderWrite() for each footnote to compute its dimensions
3) Output the normal standard text up to the maximum possible bottom coordinate, which is not occupied by a footnote, see also chapter "Dynamic Positioning" subchapter "Automatic Text Break" and also subchapter "Page Margins" in the help file named "Programmer's Manual" section "Programming Techniques"
4) Insert the footnote(s)

BTW: the section "Programming Techniques" in the "Programmer's Manual" is *essential* for everyone using VPE.
