Installing old versions

I wanted to install an older version of VPE (7.00r3) no my computer for debugging purposes. Although I entered the correct key, I get this message:

The Challenge Key is unmatched.
Please contact IDEAL Software.
(Stage 10, Code 10)

Is it not possible to install older versions anymore?

This is correct. If you purchase an update or upgrade, it replaces the old license and invalidates it.

I think we ran into the VpeOpenDoc problem that is fixed in 7.00r3, so we want to install this version in some installations that still run on 7.00 and therefore needed the redistributable files for 7.00r3.
I managed to copy them from the install directory before the installation was rolled backed. So no problem anymore.

The release notes of 7.00.r3 state that "Under very special conditions, VpeOpenDoc() could hang." Do you have any indication of these very special conditions that you can share with us?

It was a bug, which was fixed with VPE v7.00r3. There is no workaround, other than using VPE v7.00r3 or higher.
