VPE crashes on Windows 8

We're using VPE 6.1 Enterprise and everything is working fine on Windows 7 and earlier, but there is an immediate crash in our program when we attempt to diplay any report to the screen in Windows 8. We are using the VCL component and Embarcadero C++ Builder XE4 with all the latest patches. Are there any known issues with Windows 8?

VPE v6.10 R1 works on Windows 8 and Win Server 2012. VPE v6.10 R1 was released in October 2012. It is a service release, which was supplied in the context of our yearly subscription for free updates. All customers had been notified by e-mail about the availability of the service release. The e-mail did also state official support for Win 8 / 2012 for this release.

The original VPE v6.10 was released in April 2011, which is 1,5 years before Windows 8 was released. It does not work on Win 8 / 2012. Please note that its list of supported platfoms does not not include Win 8 or Win Server 2012.

gibt es schon eine Version die unter Windows 8 funktioniert? Ich bin gerade dabei eine neue Anwendung in VB.NET 2012 zu schreiben und würde VPE gerne dafür verwenden. Nun habe ich auch die Erfahrung gemacht, dass das unter Windows 7 einwandfrei funktioniert, nur unter Windows 8 (8.1) stürzt die Applikation sofort ab, wenn man entweder ein "Preview" oder "PrintDoc" ausgibt.

Wäre schön, wenn es eine Möglichkeit gäbe.

is there a version that works with Windows 8? I'm planing to write a new application in VB.NET 2012. In Windows 7 VPE 6.00 works fine, in Windows 8 (8.1) the application crashes immediately if you i cast "Preview" or "PrintDoc".

As written above: VPE v6.10 R1 (which was released in 2012) works on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

Will there be a community edition of v6.1 in the near future?

We will provide an update at some point in time, but from the support inquiries of the past years, it has come to our knowledge that many people are using it commercially. Therefore we yet have no release date for an update of the Community Edition.
