How to cancel out of the BEFOREMAIL event

I have some code present in the BEFOREMAIL event and depending on a condition needs to prevent the email from opening up. I have searched through the documentation and the forum and couldn't find anything. However in a couple of replies to people I've seen you indicating that you can cancel out of this event. I am using VFP 9.0 and VPE 3.6 Professional.

Well, it is clearly written in the documentation. For the DLL, return the value as described in the DLL manual for this event.

For the ActiveX, VCL, .NET and Java set the parameter Cancel = true.
