VPERenderTemplatePage

Postby Patrick.Elsen » Thu Jan 20, 2011 10:56 am

Is it possible to render a template page top check if it will fit on the current page or will overflow to the next page; just like we can check the height of printed text with VpeRenderPrint?

I want to dump a page of a template into a vpe document, but want it to fit in its entity on one page: so if it does not fit on the current page, I want to generate a new page and print the template page to start on the next page in the document. Is this anyhow possible with VPE?

You can do this by creating a second temporary VPE document. Load the template into the second document and dump it there. If the page count changes, it did not fit onto the current page.

I considered that already, but that way I have to create a second VPE Document and update it in the same way as the first one... as margins and stuff have an impact on the available space on a page. I will make it work that way, but it would have been easier if VPERenderTemplatePage had been available.

Such a function would perform internally exactly the same.
