Vista - can't get rid of Demo Banner

Postby wmioch » Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:52 am

Hi guys,

installed 3.6 Professional on my Vista machine today. I'm using the .NET DLL with C# in Visual Studio 2008. I re-installed with Admin privileged but can't get rid of the demo banners.

can you please help me?

v3.60 is not certified to be used on Vista. You should not use VPE versions < v4.0 on Vista due to graphics problems, see this article: http://idealsoftware.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=450

I saw the post and it's not at all related to the problem I'm posting about. We deploy on XP but develop on Vista.

My understanding is that people are able to install VPE 3.6 correctly on Vista, which I am having trouble with.

Is it worth trying to use the ActiveX control instead of the .NET DLL?

The installation itself should not be a problem - did you create a LICX file (like done for the C# demos shipped with VPE)?

I copied the one out of the demos and that fixed it! Is there a proper way to put together my own? Or are they all the same?

I don't know. Please read the Microsoft documentation regarding Licx files, they are an invention of Microsoft.
