Random demo banners in PDF docs with unlimited server licens

Postby bemsofpe » Tue Sep 02, 2008 7:55 am

Hi,

We have a customer that is using VPE 3.6 with an unlimited server license for both VPE and PDF module. We double checked that the licenses are still installed and they are.

Nevertheless this customers reports that from time to time PDF documents are created with demo banners in it. Since they mail these PDF documents without previewing the mail, this is very annoying.

We are using vpee3236.dll to generate these PDF documents. I thouhgt it was sufficient that the server licenses are installed using the Server License tool or should we also "VpeLicense" these server licenses?

This customers is running our application under XP Unlimited. Do you have any knowledge about other customers using this multi-user version of Windows XP?

We do not know the exact cause for this problem, but we don't think it is related to Windows XP Unlimited. Please contact us by e-mail to clarify your license details and some background about your software.

Note to all other customers: with VPE v4.0 server licenses have been dropped and are no longer required.

Update after e-mail contact:

The explanation is simple: you are using the PDF SDK license key for v3.50, but a PDF server license for v3.60. This does not work.

Please use your v3.60 SDK key.

Note to all other customers: with VPE v4.0 server licenses have been dropped and are no longer required.
