Merging documents

Postby hilmar » Tue Apr 22, 2008 8:16 am

I'm currently evaluating different printing tools for a project, and I have a question:

Does the VPEngine support merging documents? By merging, I mean creating one big document from many small VPE-format files.

I'm using .NEt C#.

Cheers,
Marius

I think I found a solution; writing to an existing .vpe file using WriteDoc() will append the current document to the document file.

The merging went fine. I have a question, though: why can't I open the .vpe-files in dycodoc? I get the error message "Document file has a wrong version an cannot be read" when I try to open it (in the demo version of Dycodoc)

This is, because VPE Enterprise Edition (as well as the Interactive Edition) are currently only available as version 3.60. They will be made available as v4.0 later this year.

Since dycodoc and VPE must be compatible, the current version of dycodoc can not read documents of VPE v4.0.

Do you have an urgent requirement to read VPE v4.0 document files with dycodoc, or did you just make a test?

Thanks for the reply.

No urgency, I just began to wonder if my files were all corrupt after WriteDoc().

I only use Dycodoc for testing porposes.
