VPE and Outlook

Postby IDEAL Software Support » Tue Nov 23, 2004 3:55 pm

I am currently setting up an application where invoices are going to
be automatically emailed using outlook. Each invoice run will have
100+ emails in it. My problem is that if I get VPE to automatically
email the invoice I get an outlook message saying 'A program is
trying to send a message on your behalf' and the user has to
click 'OK'. This message appears for each invoice, so the user has
100+ clicks. Is there anyway to avoid this message ?

TIA,
John

The warning shown is a "security fix" of Outlook. It has been introduced with Outlook 2002 but is also installed with a security fix pack for earlier versions.

The next release of VPE (v3.60) will allow to specify a new flag, so the warning is not shown any longer.

As a workaround, you can install any other e-mail client which can be accessed by simple MAPI. Keep in mind to activate simple MAPI for the newly installed client, so it is used by VPE.
